OVERVIEW

These universal oil catch can kits are designed for installation in cars that are experiencing oil build-up from the crankcase ventilation system. Radium Engineering offers bolt-in oil catch can kits for many different applications. For vehicles that are not covered, these universal kits are the next best option. Each kit includes Radium Engineering's patented universal Fluid Lock oil catch can with universal mounting bracket, a length of PCV hose, a selection of adapter fittings and hose-ends.

A variety of adapter fittings and hose-ends are provided so optimum hose routing can be achieved. Some fittings will not be used. Additional fittings can be purchased from Radium Engineering. To select the correct kit, simply measure the fitting diameters on the engine. For example, if installing the catch can kit on the PCV valve hose and the diameter of the hose barb measures 10mm, select the 6AN version of the kit. 10mm is very close to 3/8" (6AN) size. 8AN is for 1/2" ID hose, and 10AN is for 5/8" ID hose.

FLUID LOCK CATCH CANS

In 2022, Radium Engineering implemented a revolutionary design change to the 7 fluid ounce standard catch can. An inherent problem always existed with typical catch cans when not serviced regularly. The fluid contaminants will eventually leave the reservoir pouring into the air intake system causing poor engine performance. To resolve this issue, Radium created the Fluid Lock Catch Can. This contains a patented mechanism that prevents the reservoir from overfilling and traps the collected fluids until it is emptied.

• Depending on the PCV system design, some engines may require multiple catch cans.

FEATURES

These catch cans are used in Radium Engineering application-specific catch can kits. They are machined from solid 6061 aluminum. The 2 halves and all ports are O-ring sealed, thus safe for pressurized (forced induction) applications. The main inlet and outlet ports are 10AN ORB (7/8" female threads. integrated m8x1.25mm threaded dipstick below unscrews for a quick way to check oil level.
These catch cans feature advanced air/oil separation. As shown below, there is an integrated stainless steel baffle plate.

This is a secondary baffle that prevents contaminants from exiting the catch can. Additionally, there are 2 internal stainless steel air/oil separators. One on the inlet and one on the outlet. These are easily washable and can be reused.

SERVICING

These catch cans feature Radium Engineering's patent pending Fluid Lock technology. if the catch can fills up and is not emptied, an internal valve closes eliminates contaminants from exiting entering engine. Furthermore it maintains normal venting through prohibiting engine damage.

For draining, there are a couple options depending on the application. If there is space, the lower half of the body that holds all of the contaminants simply unscrews. However, if there is no room to remove the lower half of the catch can, there is a 4AN ORB (7/16"-20) female threaded drain port. A 4AN ORB plug (shown below) is provided.

For remote draining, consider this petcock drain kit.
