AirDog

AirDog is an American manufacturer of fuel air separation systems and lift pumps for diesel engines. Its PureFlow AirDog units are designed to remove entrained air and vapour from diesel fuel before it reaches the injection system.

The technology traces back to research by inventor Charles Ekstam in 1990, which led to the Fuel Preporator, a positive fuel air separation system for diesel engines. The AirDog name was registered in 2002 for the pickup truck version of the design, and since 2009 the pickup range has been manufactured and marketed under licence in the United States.

An AirDog system combines a high-flow electric lift pump with filtration and air separation stages, supplying the engine with clean, air-free fuel at consistent pressure. Popular kits include the FP-100-4G, FP-150-4G and the II-5G DF-165, along with the universal Raptor fuel pump.

Vehicle-specific kits are available for the Cummins 5.9L and 6.7L, Duramax 6.6L and Powerstroke 6.0L and 6.4L diesel engines, giving owners of heavy-duty pickups a way to support injector health and fuelling for towing or performance builds.
